The front cover of the editorial cover printed in red and black and with an oval bearing the portrait of Pope Pius IX is preserved. Marbled endpapers. Ex libris on the back cover. Text in French. A beautiful collection of 80 Lavoisier lithographs, clearly colored and excellently preserved, depicting the clothes of cardinals, bishops, prelates, officials, Vatican guards, etc., to be worn regularly or during special ceremonies. Light browning and reddening.
