Information
Paris, H. Piazza, 1928. In 4°, 230 x 300 mm. Prima edizione con le illustrazioni di Barbier, con 20 tavole a colori fuori testo in pochoir. Numero 830/1025 su papier velin. Legatura in marocchino rosso con bande in cartone decorato, conservate le brossure originali. I poemi delle Fêtes galantes di Verlaine (pubblicati per la prima volta nel 1869) si ispiravano ai pastorali di Watteau, alle sontuose fantasie di Fragonard e Boucher, e traevano i personaggi dalla tradizione italiana della commedia dell'arte. La sensibilità di Barbier lo rende l'artista perfetto per reinterpretare Verlaine negli anni Venti.
