Typewritten letter from Luigi Sturzo on headed paper, signed and addressed to the Minister of the Treasury Giuseppe Pella. Rome, 9 August 1950.
Single sheet of mm. 285x222, written only on the front. Traces of folding, small marginal tears. In the letter Sturzo affectionately supports his friend and invites him not to give in to "political seductions and demagogic enterprises".
Also in the lot is another autograph letter signed and addressed to the Minister of the Treasury Giuseppe Pella. Rome, 3 February 1950. Bifolio of 210x165 mm written only on the recto of the first page. Trace of central folding. Letter of congratulations for Pella's work as "Minister of the Budget and the Treasury, vigilant and firm". Sturzo was an Italian priest and politician, founder of the Italian Popular Party (PPI), a convinced anti-fascist and opponent of the regime of Benito Mussolini, senator in three legislatures and in 1952 the president of the republic Luigi Einaudi appointed him senator for life. Giuseppe Pella (1902-1981) was an Italian politician and economist, several times minister of the republic, member of the constituent assembly from 1946 to 1948, member of parliament from 1948 to 1968 and senator from 1968 to 1976, he was president of the council of ministers of the Italian republic for a few months from 1953 to 1954.
