Specialist Notes

The volume includes, with continuous numbering, the "Prose" divided into two parts ("Discourses of animals" and "On the beauties of women", the latter with an internal frontispiece); then another frontispiece precedes the "Ragionamenti di M. Agnolo." with its own numbering. The "Ragionamenti" include eight short stories and the "Discacciamento delle nuove lettere" (a noteworthy text, in which Firenzuola rejects Trissino's proposal for spelling reform).
