Engraving frontispieces, woodcut frieze on the title pages, initials and culs-de-lampe, numerous plates outside the text with engravings, full-page and folded, two leaves missing from vol. IX, one more plate from vol. XI, three plates missing from vol. XIV, one plate missing from vol. XX, frontispiece partially detached from vol. III, restorations on the first leaves of vol. II, scattered foxing and browning, wormholes in some volumes. Bindings in full contemporary hard parchment, gold titles on the spines within inserts, sprayed edges, some wormholes in vols. IV, XII, XIII, XXIII, signs of wear on some bindings.
