Milan - Rome, Rizzoli, 1945. In 4°. With 16 color illustrations, 13 black and white in the text and author's endpapers, light scattered redness, half cloth binding with corners, with two line drawings by Buzzati on the covers, missing dust jacket, minor defects.
Specialist Notes
First edition in book form of the very famous fable written by Buzzati and published for the first time in installments in 17 installments in the "Corriere dei Piccoli" in the same year with the title La famosa invasione. Gambetti - Vezzosi, page 139: "Rare and much sought after. [...]. The volume has been repeatedly republished by the publisher Martello of Milan, starting in 1958, with much more common editions."
