Superbly illustrated with 20 finely engraved full-page plates, frontispiece with the portrait of Tasso by Gravelot, engraved frontispieces in each volume, copiously adorned with beautiful engravings including 9 full-page culs-de-lame, 20 headers and 14 cul-de - lamps designed by Gravelot and engraved in copper by Baquoy, Duclos, Henriquez, Leveau, Le Roy, Massard and others, splendid contemporary binding in red morocco with double frame of gold fillets, spine with six compartments with gold decorations and friezes, title on green tag with golden letters, golden cuts. Ex libris on the backplate bearing the motto: "Deo Patriae Amicis".
