In 4th oblong, 215 x 290 mm. 2 out of three volumes, two title pages relating to the First and Second Parts, 200 numbered plates at the top right, marginal redness otherwise PERFECT EXAMPLE, contemporary binding in green half leather and marbled cardboard, gold titles on the spine , green spray cuts.

Rare collection of sumptuous theatrical sets, most relating to the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, executed by the most famous scenic painters in the first decades of the century. XIX in Milan. Among the works whose scenography is depicted: The Arabs in Gaul by G. Pacini, Juliet and Romeo by Gounod, The Thieving Magpie, Tancredi, Semiramide by Rossini, Don Giovanni, La clemenza di Tito by Mozart, Chiara and Serafina by Donizettiand other well-known opera pieces performed in the Milanese theater in those years, by Meyerbeer, Mayr, Mercadante, Pacini. Collection of extreme interest for the history of scenography, precious iconographic and costume documentation on Milanese operatic activity around 1820. The plates are signed by various artists: Stucchi, Pistrucci, Biasioli, Angeli, Rados, Campi, Fumagalli, Raineri, Landini , Carolina Lose, Perego, Zucchi, Arrigoni, Gandaglia, Canna and Bussi.
