In the first vol. portrait of the Author on the frontispiece within an oval by Daullé, lovely vignettes on the title pages drawn by De Seve and inc. (v.1.;3.) by Chevillet, a total of 12 full-page plates, placed at the beginning of each work, 13 decorated headpieces, and 60 superbly engraved culs-de-lampe by Aliamet, Baquoy, Chevillet, Flipart, Legrand, Lemire, Lempereur, Sornique et Tardieu based on drawings by Jacques de Seve, some reddening and light browning, sporadic foxing, coeval full leather binding, marbled endpapers, marbled blue cuts, plates framed in gold, gold titles on the spine 5 nerves with friezes, some small defects, slight defects. Paper ex libris on the backplate of Count Sanminiatelli.
