Printer's mark on the title page, 1 geographical map of Gaul, 1 of Hispania and 40 copper engraved plates folded into double pages, some halos and stains, the map of Gaul reinforced, 19th century parchment binding, smooth spine with 3 bands with the names of the authors printed in gold.
Provenance
Rare first edition, with the plates "Made by Andrea Palladio to facilitate the reader's cognition of history". Born as an editorial project entrusted to his sons Leonida and Orazio, it was completed by Palladio himself following their death in 1572.
