The only information we have on Aniello Somma is that obtained from the works of Tortora and De Marco: "archivist and accountant, son of Carmine, owner, and Caterina Ventrella, was born in Naples on 7 August 1803. He worked in the Banco delle due Sicilie ". In addition to these, we are not aware that he is cited by Italian authors, while we find him cited in foreign publications, both English and French. His work is of considerable interest to scholars of homeland history. The volume describes the financial instruments of the ancient Banks and their evolution and the functioning mechanisms of the Neapolitan state on an economic and financial level.
