Beautiful figurative frontispiece designed by Ghedini and engraved by Zucchi, vignette on the frontispiece engraved by Andrea Bolzoni based on a design by Francesco Pellegrini, large header to the preface letter and many other vignettes at the beginning of each scene of the tragedy with portraits of popes and emperors, 4 finials, some historiated initials and a large number of typographical friezes, perfect example. Modern decorated cardboard binding.

First edition. In this tragedy. Varano managed to combine his religious intentions with an effective dramatic nucleus, which makes it his most esteemed work. Morazzoni and Poggiali, 716: "Original, beautiful and uncommon edition".
