Intaglio frieze on the title page, header with a view of the city, 3 sheets of tables folded into the end of the volume depicting tools for caring for the vines, the grape harvest and the wine press, marginal blooms, specimen in barbs in its contemporary decorated cardboard binding.
Specialist Notes
Second rare Italian edition of the Traité sur la nature et sur la culture de la vigne by Nicolas Bidet, sommelier at the court of Marie Antoinette and member of the Imperial Academy of Agriculture in Tuscany. Published for the first time in Paris in 1752, the work underwent subsequent expansions and re-editions, becoming one of the most authoritative viticulture manuals of the 18th century.
