Pesaro, for Bartolomeo Cesano, 1555. In 4th. Cesano's typographical mark on the title page, 4 large vignettes in the text at the opening of the different sections, humidity marks on some papers, restoration in the upper corner of c.3 with slight loss to a woodcut frame, sixteenth-century handwriting on some papers, modern binding in rigid parchment.

Very rare treatise on militaria. Structured in sections that correspond to the title ("On war", "On the soldier" and so on), this theoretical-philosophical treatise on the art of war and the soldier's profession is configured as a collection of advice, aphorisms and precepts. Dedicated to Aurelio Fregoso by the author and to Muzio by the publisher. The system adopted for calling out marginal notes is curious and innovative, using the letters of the alphabet at the top.
