Amstelodami, Apud Ioannem Ianssonium. Copper engraving, ca 1640. Coeval colouring. Measurement cm. 49.1 x 57.8, wide margins. Title enclosed in artistic cartouche. Latin text on the reverse. Map of Persia which includes the territories of Turkey, Iran, Iraq and Pakistan and is embellished with two watercolor cartouches depicting characters in characteristic clothes. Slight tears at the edges, reinforcement at the central fold. This engraving was redone and published in 1636 by Jansonio to replace the now obsolete one by Hondio. First state.
