In 8° oblong (155 x 230 mm). 51 plates (of 52) including title page, dedication and a plate glued to the back of a card, first 4 leaves detached, light browning, some foxing and redness, restorations, several leaves with small defects, thinning of some leaves, half parchment binding and marbled paper, title in gold within a gusset on the spine. Paper ex libris on the inside cover.

Collection of intimate views, with a picturesque taste for ruins that anticipates that of Piranesi, and a stylistic approach that could be defined as impressionistic in portraying the ancient and Christian monuments of Urban VIII's Rome.
