Paris, au Palais, Chez Theodore le Gras, 1739. In the 12th. Frieze on the title page, intaglio headers, slight foxing, two pen marks on the title page, contemporary bazzana with gold decorations on the spine, worn. Ownership note dated 2 December 1758 on the first flyleaf.

More than forty games played in the first half of the 18th century are described in this thoroughly enjoyable book. Chess and back-gammon (trictrac) are extensively explained and commented on, as are the numerous card games popular at the time.
