"Large paper copy", portrait of the author, 32 plates, 7 of which are hand-coloured, foxing and browning, coeval perhaps editorial binding in half brown leather with blind embossing on the plates and gold decorations. § Joined a folder in blue cloth with 4 sheets in 12th century Carolina, reused sheets.
Specialist Notes
This is a large work, with excellent facsimile tables of scripture, engraved by B.T. Pouncy; universal in scope, it includes a history of printing, as well as accounts of the materials used for writing, numbers and characters for numbers, secret writing, and ciphers.
