"Large paper copy", portrait of the author, 32 plates of which 7 are hand-colored, foxing and browning, contemporary binding, perhaps editorial, in brown half leather with blind embossing on the plates and gold decorations. § Joined a folder in blue cloth with 4 sheets in 12th century Carolina, reused sheets.

This is a large work, with excellent facsimile tables of scripture, engraved by B.T. Pouncy; universal in scope, it includes a history of printing, as well as accounts of the materials used for writing, numbers and characters for numbers, secret writing, and ciphers.
