Portrait of the author on the frontispiece, illustration on the title page in red and black 32 etched illustrations in the text by Paul Avril, each protected by vellum, the editorial cover preserved, printed in an elegant period binding in red morocco, with plates in the center a stylized gold-embossed plaque, gilt-decorated spine, author and title, marbled hardcover case.

Refined French illustrated book in a limited edition of 400 copies. ours is no. 178 (of 200), drawn on Whatman paper with double suite of etchings.
