The Company of the Keepers of the Holy Crosses is a chivalric order founded in 1520 with the aim of administering and safeguarding the Treasure of the Holy Crosses, a group of goods of high historical, artistic and religious interest kept in the Old Cathedral of Brescia in the chapel of the Holy Crosses, in the north transept.
Carlo Maffei: "Religious of the convent of the Lateran Regular Canons of S. Giovanni ev. he was abbot and worked by spending his substances to rebuild the parish church.
