Rome, from the Vatican Pontifical Printing House, 1742 (at Giovanni Maria Salvioni printer, 1742). In 8th. 214x140mm. Frontispiece with copper engraving depicting the Holy Family, frontispiece on copper from drawings by Giuseppe Passari (1654-1714) and engraved by Arnold van Westerhout (1651-1725), 13 other plates also engraved on copper from drawings by Passari, slight foxing. SPECTACULAR ROMAN BAROQUE MOSAIC BINDING in hazelnut leather, spine with five raised bands with gold friezes and title on red label, the plates enclosed by a gold threaded frame inside which lie spirals of intertwined ribbons, whose fields are filled with a lattice sprinkled with flowers, at the various ends decorated with geometric motifs and foliage, in the center of the plates there is a noble coat of arms surmounted by a ducal crown, golden edges with decorations painted in red and green with floral motifs, slight peeling on the headphones.
