Original edition. Contains a total of 23 canti, 6 of which in the first edition: Il Risorgimento, A Silvia, Le Memorias, Canto notte of a wandering shepherd in Asia, The calm after the storm, Saturday of the village. Canti precedes the beautiful letter of dedication To his friends of Tuscany, printed here for the first time, which has the air of a definitive testament, desperate yet consoled. This edition was made by subscription, and a manifesto went forward that the Leopards he toured throughout Italy. “(...) I sold the ms. of my verses - he wrote to his father, from Florence, on 23 December 1830 - with 700 associations, for 80 sequins: in its current state it is problematic del trade, it was not possible to obtain more...” Mazzatinti 670; Benedetucci 36.
