The manuscript presents some cartouches with revisions and corrections, as well as countless additions by another hand in lighter ink with precise instructions for the actors. For example: with admiration, with jovial laugh, with fear, with shamefaced look, etc. Esteemed Sienese playwright (1675-1767), worked in Rome, Siena and Florence. Seen as a Goldonian precursor, he failed in the attempt to reform Italian theater in a modern way: "a dramaturgical production that is still fully enjoyable and varied – often full of interesting meta-theatrical cues – always dignified and with not rare examples of notable quality and depth."
