Information
Naples, Giovanni Di Simone, 1745. In 2nd. On the title page printed in red and black, a beautiful copper-engraved vignette, 1 full-page engraved plant, 3 leaves engraved and folded several times, a the beginning of each book engraved vignette by F. Strina, sparse flourishes, pp 195-244 with work of woodworm on the outer white margin, some leaves slightly browned, coeval parchment binding with gold title within a label on the spine, sprayed cuts, some lacks on the spine, slight defects.
Specialist Notes
First and only edition that concerns one of the main communication routes of the Roman era. Lipsticks 8477; Cicognara 3846: "With three topographical maps describing the course of this road, a grandiose work full of erudite notions".
