I work: Busbecq (1520 or 21-1592) was appointed ambassador to the Ottoman Empire during the reign of Suleiman the Magnificent. During his stay in Istanbul he composed the Turkish Letters, a compendium of his personal correspondence with his friends, which remained a primary source for knowledge of the Ottoman court in the 9th century.
