Specialist Notes
First edition. The best treatise among all those published in the century. XVII is considered that of Nicoletto Giganti. Giganti was the first to simply call himself "master of arms" and had his treatise printed after twenty-seven years of teaching. His book is still considered today by the experts as a renewal of fencing, which was beginning to show evident signs of fatigue for having been bastardized with new actions and precepts taken inconsiderately on loan from foreigners: precepts already condemned for two centuries by the great Italian treatises. & Nbsp;
