[Venice], heirs of Ant. Pinelli, 1789. In 4th. With beautiful allegorical antiporta and 7 large plates folded several times designed by G. Cason and engraved in copper by G. Daniotto, small tear restored to a5 paper, rare and slight blooms, rare restorations and a few small tears without loss in correspondence with the folds of the boards, coeval binding in half parchment and marbled paper. Paper ex libris on the counterplate, evanescent membership stamp on the title page, some handwritten annotations.
Specialist Notes
First and only edition. The work illustrates the attempts to unearth the Venetian warship "La Fenice", equipped with 74 guns, which lay at the bottom of the lagoon. The seven tables describe in detail the ship and the mechanical technologies adopted in the company.
