Friezes on the title pages, at the end of the 1st vol. four out-of-text statistical tables on the demographic movement in 1759 referring to art. Arithmétique politique (pp. 512-538, signed by De Felice), slight blooms and light browning, contemporary half leather binding, title within red gusset on the spine, slight defects. Paper bookplate for counterplates.

First edition of this encyclopedia inspired by that of Diderot and d'Alembert, dedicated to Gustave III of Sweden. The articles, as well as by De Felice, were written by Bouchaud, Bertrand, Tscharner, Andrié, Jaucourt, Lalande, Durand de la Maillane, Mingard de Beau-Lieu, Maclaine, Molé, and various other authors who wished to remain anonymous. / div>
