Venice, Paolo Baglioni 1638. In 4th. Eye, woodblock mark on the title page, some flourishes, ancient parchment re-assembled, smooth spine with manuscript title and author, plates covered with marbled paper, blue spray cuts.

Specialist Notes

Third impression corrected by the author himself, Henrico Caterino & nbsp; Davila & nbsp; (1576-1631), historian of the French religious wars. Its name derives from that of the king and queen of France & nbsp; Caterina de 'Medici and Henri, Duke of Vendome. His Historia - which covers the period from 1559 to 1598 - was enormously successful.
