With 7 plates designed by Michele Piazzini and Giuseppe Ruggieri and engraved by Niccolò Mogalli, frontispiece printed in red and black, two medals depicting the dedicatee, Cesare Francesco, and the city of Pisa on the title page, vignette and intaglio initial at c. A1r, coeval parchment binding, heraldic crest embossed in gold on the front plate of the Marquis of Stafford surrounded by the motto "Honi soit qui mal y pense" of the Order of the Garter, title, place and year of printing within leather inserts on the smooth spine , marbled cuts, some slight defects. Original edition of this important work divided into six chapters: climatic and geographical position of the Baths, natural qualities and medicinal properties of its waters, rules to be observed in using them, and with extensive historical information on these famous ancient Pisan baths. The tables represent the plans of the adjacent bathrooms and factories and the nearby San Davino Tower.
