In 4, Portrait of Machiavelli on the title page of each book, restoration on the title page, light browning and blooms, some small stains, coeval binding in mottled calfskin, plates in squares with double fillet frames, author and title stamped in gold within the spine with 5 nerves, gold friezes, stains on the plates, small lacks on the back and hinges, slight defects.
Specialist Notes
The editions of Machiavelli with a small head depicting Machiavelli, it is actually a false portrait, are called "Testina". Specifically there are five editions dated 1550 but these are publications of the century. XVII. Undoubtedly a fascinating bibliographic case because there are numerous variants, testifying to the great success of Machiavelli's work. The text contains: & nbsp; Le Historie Fiorentine; The Prince ; Discourses on the first decade of Tito Livio; Art of wars; Golden donkey, Mandrake and Clizia . Bertelli-Innocenti, 207, p. 79, n. 204.
