Cologne, Theodor Baum, 1581. In the 8th. Letterpress on the title page, friezes and initials engraved in wood, light browning, more intense on some files, some flowering, two ink stains at G2-4 with slight erosion of the paper in the first two cards, woodworm work on the inner margin of the files GH, some partially loose files, contemporary half parchment binding, woodworm holes, several gaps in the spine. Signature of belonging to the guard card.

Rare edition printed in Cologne, the first printed in Germany, of the treatise by Levinus Lemnius (Zierikzee 1505 –1568), Dutch doctor and writer. A work in which medical and dietary issues come into contact with the world of the occult, the dreamlike and the monstrous.
