In the 8th. & Nbsp; Front door engraved with portrait of the author, with 22 plates, some annotations by ancient hand, first loose paper, woodworm hole in the inner margin, light browning and flowering, some slight stains, small tear without loss on a table, contemporary leather binding , author and title imprinted in gold within the spine, red cuts, abrasions, defects.

Second edition, published posthumously, complete with 22 plates representing numerous varieties of shells. & Nbsp; Lesser (1692-1754), Lutheran pastor in Nordhausen, was engaged in writing numerous scientific treatises from a theological perspective. This work investigates the nature of shelled animals, suggesting that even in these small beings divine purpose and beauty are manifested.
