Paris, chez Estienne Michallet, 1682. In 8th. Copper heads, two tables folded out of text at the end of the volume depicting the various components of the piston steam cooker, marginal blooms, small tear restored on one of the two tables, coeval binding in sponged calfskin. Note of possession to the counterplate of Carlo Campeggi.

Rare and valuable scientific edition, of the first text that accurately describes the pressure cooker , indicating its benefits in cooking food. Starting from the experience of the pressure cooker, Papin built his first steam engine & nbsp; in 1707. & nbsp; His main interest was physics. In 1687, he provides a first theory of a machine operating by means of the reciprocating motion of a piston. This machine was based on the model of the atmospheric machines of those times.
