Paris, Charles Bosse, 1901. In the great 8th. Portrait of the author in the front door, illustration on the frontispiece in red and black 32 illustrations in the text by Paul Avril etched each protected by tissue paper, preserved the editorial paperback printed in an elegant binding of the time in red morocco, with the plates in the center a stylized plaque engraved in gold, on the spine decorated in gold, author and title, case in marbled hardcover.
Specialist Notes
Refined French illustrated book in a limited edition of 400 copies. ours is no. 178 (of 200), drawn up on Whatman paper with double suite of etchings.
