Venice, Simone Occhi, 1756. In 4th. Woodblock mark on the title page, initials and friezes engraved in wood, few and light blooms and reddening, rare small spots, coeval binding in rigid parchment, author and title imprinted in gold and paper patch with numbering on the spine, red spray cuts, slight defects .

First Italian edition. Translation of the second French edition (1751), which received the King's Approval in the register of the Chamber of Booksellers and Publishers. Antoine Augustin Calmet (1672 - 1757) was a French Benedictine monk, prolific writer, highly regarded by Voltaire. & Nbsp;
