Engraved title page and 20 plates protected by vellum, 4 of which in color dedicated to American Indians, sporadic reddening, coeval binding in red checkering, dry-embossed plates, author, title and friezes imprinted in gold on the back with 5 nerves, golden cuts , slight flaw in the hinge and corners. light halos. Handwritten dedication to the guard card.
Specialist Notes
Second edition, the first is from 1864, printed at the end of the civil war and therefore updated with new chapters dedicated to Washington and Lincoln.
