Venice, Aldus Manutius, 1589. In 8th. Frontispiece with woodcut frieze and anchor with dolphin, initials engraved in wood, lacuna with loss of text on paper E4, slight halos at the lower edge of some cards, small spots, parchment binding with various tears and gaps, partially detached spine with gaps, placement paper dowel glued to the spine with gaps.
Specialist Notes
Interesting treatise on the existence of demons and their influence in earthly matters. In particular, the author (1545 - 1609) maintained that evil beings induced some diseases in man, of a substantially different nature from the others, curable only with the intercession of the saints and their relics.
