Venice, Emilian Typography, 1840-1861. In 8th. 103 vols. Text on two columns, some scattered flowers, coeval half parchment binding with author, title and tome number stamped in gold within blocks on the spine, slight defects. Paper bookplate on the back of each volume.

Monumental work, complete with all 103 volumes on the history of the Catholic Church, accompanied by numerous monographs by popes and ecclesiastics. A work that exalted the centrality of papal power, with respect to which all other powers, including the civil one, are subordinate.
