Specialist Notes
Bacchi della Lega, 47-48: "... beautiful and correct generally attributed to the Elzeviri. But Brunet, also comforted by the opinion of the compiler of the Uilenbroek Library (Amsterdam, 1729, in-8 °) believes it to have emerged from the trunks of John Blaeu ... pages 357 and 360 are mistakenly numbered 353, 356. In most of the copies the printer's preface to readers begins: The amateurs of the Tuscan language (like ours); in the other very few it begins: Here you are, Dear readers, etc. The first preface is wider than the second ". Willems, 343, no 1349. Brunet I, 1002. Graesse I, 451.
