Iván Cañas, nato a L'Avana nel 1946 è un famoso fotografo i cui scatti sono presenti in collezioni a Cuba, in Messico, Francia, Canada, Germania, Italia. Ha ricevuto vari premi internazionali, tra cui - nel 1980 - il Premio de Fotografía del Salón Nacional de las Artes Plásticas di Cuba. Dal 1992 vive a Miami e lavora come fotoreporter per la Agencia Mexicana de Noticias (Notimex).
