On vol. 1, portrait of the author on the frontispiece within an oval by Daullé, graceful vignettes on the title pages drawn by De Seve and inc. (v.1.;3.) by Chevillet, a total of 12 full-page plates, placed at the beginning of each work, 13 decorated headpieces, and 60 culs-de-lampe superbly engraved by Aliamet, Baquoy, Chevillet, Flipart, Legrand, Lemire, Lempereur, Sornique and Tardieu from drawings by Jacques de Seve, some reddishness and light browning, sporadic foxing, contemporary full leather binding, marbled flyleaves, marbled blue edges, boards framed in gilt, gilt titles on the spine with five raised bands and decorations, some small losses, minor defects. Paper bookplate on the pastedown by Count Sanminiatelli.
