Specialist Notes
Rare and precious edition of the history of Brescia and its territory, originally composed in Latin by Francesco Cavriolo and printed in 1505. The work is presented here in the refined Italian translation by Patrizio Spini, who not only revised and corrected it, but also added approximately one hundred pages, continuing the narrative up to 1585. Divided into twelve chapters, the chronicle begins with the legendary origins of the city, whose foundation is attributed to Hercules, and continues, in the final chapter written by Cavriolo, with valuable testimonies on the most famous artists and dignitaries of Brescia.
