Specialist Notes
It contains poems from the Vita Nuova, the Convito, and other collections, as well as the Divine Comedy. The work is in two volumes; pages I-VII of the first volume contains the "Life of Dante Alighieri written by Cavaliere Girolamo Tiraboschi." In 1820, Buttura took over the editorship of the Biblioteca poetica italiana series, published by Didot. His literary work is unremarkable; his poetry is mostly occasional. His translation skills, however, are more valuable.
