Slight halos and marginal blooms, some holes in the title page, water mill at the upper inner margin of the last two cards, handwritten notes on the reverse of the last card, coeval binding in cardboard, gaps in the spine, stains on the plates, inscriptions and millstone water to the rear plate.

Brilliant satire in verse on the phenomenon of the ecclesiastical dead man. Salvatore Spiriti (1712 - 1776) was a Neapolitan intellectual, a staunch opponent of the Papacy and one of the most fervent promoters of secular demands opposing the interference of the Church in the government. & Nbsp;
