Original edition. Treatise in which the Jesuit Baltus (1667-1743) replies with disdain to the hypothesis formulated by Anthony Van Dale in De oraculis veterum ethnicorum dissertationes (1683) and subsequently by & nbsp; Bernard Le Bovier de Fontenelle in his & nbsp; Histoire des oracles & nbsp; (1687) according to which pagan oracles were simply the fruit of fiction and lies and were not instead aroused by diabolical forces.
