Vignette on the title page printed in red and black, intaglio head and initial, 85 numbered full-page plates engraved on copper by Pomarede and Mazzoni, the folded number II, some woodcut friezes in the text, light scattered blooms and browning, coeval full binding parchment, smooth back patch in blond calfskin with author and title imprinted in gold, polychrome spray cuts, slight lacks and stains.

Second edition, corrected and augmented in Latin, of this interesting study on the masks of burlesque figures in the ancient Roman theater, published for the first time in Italian.
