Noble arms on the title page, headboards, initials, and end caps decorated with woodcut, illustrations in the text, 13 full-page engraved wood plates depicting the Provinces described, paper 2Gg8 is missing, woodworm holes that in some cases touch the mirror of the print, redness, coeval parchment binding, the author's smooth spine embossed in gold, red spray cuts, small woodworm holes. Engraved noble ex libris glued to the title page.
Specialist Notes
Ottavio Beltrano was born in Terranova and began his modest activity as a typographer in Cosenza, around 1620, he continued in Naples and in various cities of the Kingdom to finish it in Ancona, around 1660. In 1640 and again in Naples, he published his major work, Brief description of the Kingdom of Naples , reprinted several times.
