Venice, Melchiorre Sessa, 1535. In 8 °. & Nbsp; Letterpress with cat with mouse in mouth and motto "Dissimilium infida societas" within a figured frame on the title page and at the end, with an illustration in the text, historiated initials, light browning, margin top worn and with small gaps in the first fascicles, on the title page reinforcement at the inner margin and four woodworm holes, small gaps at the upper margin, reinforcement at the inner margin of A2, A3, A8, B1, B8, D1 partially detached, woodworm hole from D3, restoration at the upper edge of G7, contemporary half parchment binding, several woodworm holes.

Specialist Notes

Rare. First printed edition in Italy of this astronomy manual published for the first time in Basel in 1528 by the humanist, mathematician and astrologer of Antwerp (c.ca 1499 -1531) educated at the court of Emperor Maximilian I.
